9 months

Ben is 9 months old! That's crazy!

Oh my, how time flies!

Some things about Benjamin:

-He loves to babble. He says mamamamamama and dadadadadadada and I'm starting to think he's distinguishing that those mean mom and dad. Not that he's quite calling out to us but understands that there is some connection.

-He is not a good sleeper. Everytime I get ready to let him cry it out and sleep train him, he pops out a tooth or gets sick.

-He is our earliest teether. He now has two teeth and is working on others.

-He is a fast little guy. He crawls all over the place and pulls himself and cruises on things. He is much more gutsy than the girls. He will stand up to things and just let go and raise his hands up in the air.

-He really loves to play with his sisters. He gets so sad when they go in the toy room and close the door. He also loves to play outside. Whenever the girls go out, he stands up by the screen and watches them. It's kind of sad but adorable at the same time.

-He usually eats anything. He has been a little picky since being sick in the last week but he is a good eater.

I love this little boy and love watching him grow and learn.

Cousin fun!

While Mike was out of town for a few days, we decided to meet up with Kelsey and her family at Oak Tree Village in Yucaipa. They had a little petting farm, pony rides, a bounce house, fishing and little stores to shop in. It was a lot of fun, especially since we got to meet up with Audrey and Kelsey and Travis.
The best part was the petting zoo and the girls also loved playing in the little stream they had by the fishing pond.

Can you tell all three girls love pink?

Good times.

8 months!

This first year of Ben's life is ZOOMING by!
Yesterday Ben turned 8 months. This kid is so much fun.

7 months

8 months

So Ben is 8 months old. Here are some things about our big boy:
-He is a pro at crawling now and loves to pull himself up and pretty much everything and anything.
-We've named him our worst sleeper yet. He just does not do the sleeping thing as well as the girls but that could also be because he's the third one.
-He hasn't turned down any food yet. He seems to like everything.
-No teeth still but that's not surprising in our family.
-He really loves his sisters. He gets so excited to play with them.
-When he stands up on something he makes this big roar like he's accomplished something major.
-His eyes are not super blue like the girls'. They seems to be a darker blue on the outside with some green on the inside.
-He loves animals and will make noise at them.

 Happy Boy
He looks a little cross-eyed in this. I swear he's not.

He loves to stand up.

And play with his sister.

This was a sequence of Ben crawling all over the girls while they were watching their movie last night. It was pretty funny.

Emily's Halloween parade

Today was Emily's Halloween parade/party. We weren't sure if the kids would be able to wear costumes but they let the kindergarteners wear them.
The parents were allowed to come see the parade. It was so cute.
This is all the kindergarteners and the principal in the middle. They were doing a raffle on the pumpkins that Mrs. Brewer (the other kinder teacher) grew in their Kinder"garden". :)
Emily was one of the last ones to get one.

Our little flamingo. Emily got a lot of compliments on her costume.

She kind of actually looks like a flamingo from the side and far away.

This was actually in the morning when I dropped her off. These are her friends Jocelyn (left) and Cassie (right). Every day, it's a game to see if she can beat Cassie to school. Usually she beats us because we walk most of the time.

Pumpkin Patch

We have a pumpkin patch almost directly behind our house.  The kids get SO excited when they see they are setting it up for Halloween. They got it up in time for FHE tonight so we went over there. The girls didn't let me get a ton of pictures but I got some.

I'm not a good picture taker so don't judge my lighting, etc.

Ben was fascinated with the goats. And this guy really wanted me to feed him.

PICTURES!!!

These aren't really in any order. Mostly by kid and how they are organized on the computer.

Every once in a while, Allyson will sneak out of bed and sit on the stairs and this time we didn't even realize she was there. We saw this as we were walking up the stairs to go to bed.

Allyson doesn't take a nap anymore so we find this here and there.

"Mom look! Shells on my fingers"

Despite their little spats, Emily and Allyson really do love to play together. This time they were playing with their babies on the stairs.

Trip to the library always includes the fountain after.

This is when we went to hang out with Kelsey and Audrey for a day.

 These girls love to paint.

These are Emily and Allyson's buddies, Joie and Berkeley. All girls and all love princesses. Don't they look like an advertisement for Disney? Love them!

On this day, we needed to run to the store. Emily asked to wear her Snow White dress. Normally I make them keep the dress up at home but for some reason today, I was feeling generous. As we walked through the store, she stood on the edge of the cart waving like she was a princess in the Disney parade. She's such a ham sometimes. Then as we were leaving, for some reason they were giving out roses. I told her it's for girls that use their manners. She was so excited and took her best princess picture outside in the parking lot.

This summer, Emily kept asking to take off her training wheels. We knew she would pick it up easily but were dreading the initial first fall. One Friday, I saw her outside on her friend, Chase's two wheel bike and Chase helping her ride it. We figured they were just playing. The next day, I was in the house talking to Mike when I looked out the window and Emily was riding the two wheel bike all by herself. I said "holy moly, Emily is riding the bike!" We walked out and our 7 year old neighbor had taught her how to ride her bike. We took Emily's training wheels off and tried to help her out and she would not have it from us, so we left it up to her friend to do the teaching. Worked like a charm!

This little girl is very coordinated. I'm not quite sure where she gets it from.

 Splash pad!

At Mike's annual company picnic this year. They had a face painter. She was doing these very elaborate paintings. (It took a little too long for little kids to wait though)
Emily wanted Apple Jack from My Little Pony.

Ben's first time sitting in the cart.

First time sitting up like a big boy in the bath.
