Growing

Ben and Allyson had their check up appointment this last Monday. It went well except for Ben's 3 shots.
Allyson's stats:
37 3/4 inches (66%)
30 lbs  (42%)

Ben's stats:
25 1/2 inches (58%)
15 lbs (39%)

Ben and Allyson have very similar stats.  Emily is going to be my little clone as far as height and weight. But I have noticed that Ben has been right there with Ally's stats since he was born.
He's a very happy and healthy little boy. He is very mellow and easy going EXCEPT for between 6 and 9pm if I'm not around. He's a momma's boy at night.

Ben tried oatmeal cereal today for the first time.
He wasn't sure about it at first but he seems like he will start to like it more and more. I'm just excited because I think it will help him not wake up as much. The doctor said this is probably why he started waking up twice during the night again.

He has been rolling over for a while now but this is how we usually find him if we lay him down for a minute. We just have to get him to roll from front to back now so he doesn't get stuck. He's at that awkward stage when he really wants to sit up but can't quite yet.

4 months

Ben is going to be 4 months tomorrow! I can't believe it.
He's such a good, fun baby.
I will update more about his stats after his appointment on the 15th. (That's the best part)

Happy Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was Allyson's 3rd birthday! We had a little family party and had ice cream sundaes.
I made Allyson her own cupcake so she could blow out the candles.

Grandma Johnson got a bunch of dress up for Allyson and all the little girls were so excited!

Sisters! I love them!

My sweet girl and me.

This morning, they were really excited to try out the dress up clothes.

I can actually see a tiny hint of me in Emily in this picture.

About Allyson:
-Allyson is very good at entertaining herself. She can take anything and play something with it. The other day she was using two keys and pretending they were people. When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she started naming the things that she saw around the room. They included, tissues, a vaccum, a phone, marbles, and a new blanket like Emily's. Rachel brought her a box of tissues when she came to take the girls swimming and Allyson was SO excited!

-She marches to the beat of her own drum. She is very different than Emily is some ways.

-She is both serious and silly at the same time. I'm not sure if it's her age or her personality but it takes a lot for us to get a smile out of her for a picture. And when she does she says "cheese" while she closes her eyes, tilts her head up and gives us a cheesy smile.

-She loves being a big sister to her baby brother. She sings to him and since she sits in the middle in the car, she is in charge of turning on his singing star or giving him his binky.

-She still loves having her blanket with her all the time and some sort of baby or stuffed animal.

-She loves anything that has to do with animals.

-She loves books.

-She is growing like a weed and is actually almost as tall as Emily.
We knew that would happen though.

We love her so very much. She adds so much humor to our lives. She has her quirky little personality and we love to hear all the things she has to tell us.

Beach Day!

Last Friday we went to the beach with our friend/neighbor. It was a lot of fun. The girls love to play with Levi--who is 2 1/2.

I was really surprised with Emily. She was getting in pretty deep.

My friend, Anne told her she should stand side ways so the waves don't make her move so she assumed this position a lot.

Anne also just had a baby. Scarlet is a little over a month younger than Ben.
They were just hanging out in the shade.

Scavenger Hunt

This morning we went on a scavenger hunt walk. I have been compiling a list of activities we can do this summer. I found this one and thought it would be fun.
I made up a paper with different things to look for, we printed it out and headed out on our walk. We really needed it because Ben just would not stay asleep at home.
Our "list" of things to find.

The squirrels we found

Emily and the dandelion

The girls and the stop sign they found

And Ben finally stayed asleep
They also thought of a lot of new things we can put on the next list we make. It was a lot of fun!
