It rained here on Monday. It has been a long time since it's rained. Emily and Allyson love the rain (as do I) and jump at the chance to use their umbrellas.

Ben's Blessing
On Sunday, we had Ben's blessing.
All of Mike's family was there but unfortunately my family had to work so they couldn't make the trip from all of their spread out towns.
(I stole these pictures from my sister in law. Thanks Michelle)

I guess I can see why everyone thinks Emily and Allyson are twins.

Siblings
I have been really bad about updating but I had to share some cute pictures of the kids.
Emily is really excited that she can hold Ben sitting up.
I am IN LOVE with this picture! It was the first really good smile we got.
This morning Allyson wanted to read Ben some library books.
She accidentally hit his hand so she had to kiss it better.
I love my kids. It took Allyson a little while to warm up to him but now she loves to hold him and read to him. And it's especially funny to hear Emily and Allyson's voice go up when they talk to him.

1 month
I can't believe our baby boy is already a month old! Time has gone by so fast. Ben is such a good baby. We have been lucky enough to have pretty mellow babies. Although, he is the most gassy child we've had. He seems uncomfortable a lot of the time, especially at night. We got him some drops for his gas and they seem to work about half the time. He makes these grunting noises that just drive me crazy because he does it all night. At least it seems that way. I don't know what his stats are but he has grown a lot and is getting good at holding his head up. He is already in size 2 diapers and wearing 3 month clothes. He has already lost a lot of his hair on top and we are both assuming it will come in blonde just like Allyson's did. He hasn't smiled yet in response to us so I look forward to seeing that but we can tell his vision is less blurry. We really love him and enjoy watching him grow and change every day.
Of course we have to do the teddy bear picture.
Here is one month:
Those one month bug-eyes. :)
Of course I had to go back and look at the girls' one month pictures.

Easter
This year Easter snuck up on me. March was a very busy month but I caught some pictures of the girls before we went to church on Easter Sunday.
On Sunday evening, we went to Rachel and Gabe's house for an Easter egg hunt and Easter dinner. It was lovely and the girls had a great time hunting for A LOT of eggs.

Twinsies
I think Ben and Allyson look a lot alike. I'm sure they will both grow up to look different, especially because Ally doesn't look much like she did as a newborn but it's fun to see.

The Arrival (Picture explosion)
On March 8, our baby boy arrived! Benjamin Jedediah Johnson. I was induced because of the Heparin that I was on so Mike and I went in at 8am and got ready for the new addition to our family to join us. The labor wasn't too long. It took them a while to get my IV in for the Pitocen because my veins just don't like to be found. I started on Pitocen about 10am and things were slowly progressing. I told Mike to get some lunch for himself around 1 and in that time my Dr. came in and checked me, broke my water and I got the epidural. From there is progressed pretty quickly and the doctor said he thought I would have the baby around 4:00-5:00. We got to about that time and Ben just would not move down so they had to keep repositioning me which took a good two hours. Finally I was able to push and then we met our sweet little boy.

After, I scarfed down as much food as I could since I was starving and hadn't eaten in 12 hours, while they cleaned up Ben. Mike's family all came to meet him and then from there we went up and got comfortable in the recovery room. We've learned in our years that the first night is the easiest, so we quickly tried to go to sleep so we could catch up as much as possible.
We came home on Sunday morning and got comfortable at home!
He has been such a dream and I love to just watch him. He looks like Allyson to me but also has Mike's nose (of course) and forehead so he looks definitely like our family.
I know pictures are all pretty much the same in that first little bit but I have taken a bunch.
We did a little St. Patricks Day craft too.
